How the courses work

onlineTEFLcourses.com provides online TEFL training, through a totally online virtual school. Like a school, you can meet other students and discuss aspects of the course. Unlike school though, you won't be standing by yourself in the playground come break time!

Courses

A variety of courses are available to you. There is the comprehensive 50-hour online TEFL course, for many, this is all you need to teach English abroad. There is also the 30-hour grammar course, which we advise you take to supplement any TEFL course you take. We also have Mini-courses. These courses are for teachers who are NOT taking our 50-hour online TEFL course since they are a part of this course. So, if you have taken a TEFL course with another organisation or are already teaching, there short courses are perfect to hone your skills.

Lessons

Each unit within each course comprises a lesson. A lesson is made up of a series of pages that each have a question that summarises that page. When you have completed a lesson, you can move onto the activities.

Activities

There are a number of different activities. Each unit has at least one assignment that is submitted to your tutor for assessment. You will also have activities such as matching activities, gap fill, true or false and quizzes. You will need to achieve a certain level to pass each lesson and activity. Don't worry! If you don't achieve the pass mark, your tutor will be on hand to offer you guidance and support and to give you another go.

Support

You will be assigned your own personal tutor who will just be at the other end of an email, should you need anything. Your tutor will also provide feedback on all your assignments throughout the course. If you feel you need to talk to someone then you can call us and speak to a TEFL advisor about the course.

Forums

Forums are a great way to share your learning experience with others like you. You can also keep a blog and let others know how you're getting on.

Certificate

Upon successful completion of the 50-hour online TEFL course and the 30-hour grammar course, you will be awarded a TEFL certificate and this will be sent out to you within 2 weeks of completing the course. And then you are on your way!

We do not offer actual certificates for the Mini-courses, but we will send you a letter of successful completion to show prospective employers that you have completed the Mini-course.
